The one-day tournament will feature Indian cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath, who is testing his golf skills, a press release said.
The first seven qualification legs have so far been held in Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Kolkata saw 24 spots being booked for the National Finals and post the Chennai event, 20 more spots will be up for grabs in the remaining qualification legs.
The national finals will be held in Pune from April 4 to 6 at the Oxford Golf Resort.
Three winners from the national finals will compete against those from tournaments played in 60 countries all over the world in the 29th edition of the Mercedes Trophy World Final in Stuttgart, Germany, in October.
The format of play will be Double Peoria, a unique format of adjusting handicaps of players, which levels the playing field enabling golfers to have a greater chance of qualifying for the National Finals.
