Chhattisgarh CM reviews development works in Naxal-hit areas

Chhattisgarh Chief MinisterRaman Singh has stressed on effective implementation of development schemes in Naxal-hit areas and said laxity on this front will not be tolerated.
Singh took stock of implementation of government schemes and ongoing developing works in Bastar region during a meeting with officials in Sukma district last night.
During the meeting, the chief minister stressed on effective implementation of development schemes in Naxal-hit areas so that people get benefits meant for them, an official statement said here today.
Singh was in Sukma as part of his government's campaign for good governance, 'Lok Suraaj Abhiyaan'. The third phase of the campaign started yesterday.
"No slackness would be tolerated in implementation of schemes in these (insurgency-hit) areas," the statement quoted the chief minister as telling the officials.
"It is the responsibility of the government and administration to provide better roads, electricity, potable water, irrigation and health facility to people," he said.
Singh directed the officials to complete all the development works stipulated for the financial year 2017-18 in the region on time.
The Bastar division consists of Naxal-hit districts like Bastar, Dantewada, Bijapur, Narayanpur, Sukma and Kanker.
