Police Anil Nawani was injured today after he slipped while getting out of an helicopter.

Senior police officials said Nawani, who had gone on a tour of Ambikapur, was getting down from the helicopter using a ladder when he slipped and fell on the ground, injuring his hand.

Doctors examining him said the injury was not serious and he would be discharged soon.

Nawani, a 1978-batch officer, took over as DGP in July last year and will retire next month.
