Child killed, over 30 wounded in Madagascar grenade blast:

A two-year-old was killed and more than 30 people injured when a grenade exploded in Madagascar today, just hours after the island nation's new president was sworn in, authorities said.
The blast occurred a few hundred metres from the stadium where Hery Rajaonarimampianina was installed as the island's first post-coup elected president, a police source said.
Minister of Internal Security Arsene Rakotondrazaka said 33 people had been injured and a two-year-old child killed in the blast in the capital Antananarivo. Earlier a police spokesman said 37 had been wounded.
"There are 33 injured and one death, a child of two years," the minister told AFP.

Taking the oath of office, President Rajaonarimampianina had called for national unity and reached out to his political rivals to help restore stability to the Indian Ocean island.
"I ask you my political family and friends, help me to promote the great destiny of national unity," he said.
