The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a largely advisory body comprising nominated members would begin its session from March 3. The National People's Congress (NPC), regarded the rubber stamp legislative body of the Communist Party of China (CPC), would meet on March 5.
This would be first Parliament session being held by President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang after they took over in the leadership change last year.
The important feature of the NPC, which meets about a fortnight every year, would be the work report by the premier outlining policies concerning all aspects of the country.
China's GDP had come down from double digits to 7.7 per cent this year, barely above the official target of 7.5 per cent.
The government has already launched a host of reforms to spur economic growth.
On the political front, the new leadership is expected to firm up the campaign against corruption being carried out since last year, which has seen key leaders like Bo Xilai being punished for graft.
