"A total of 34 thermal power projects (66 units) aggregating to 24,749 MW have been commissioned with Chinese equipment during the last three years and in the current year up to July 2014.
"Imports of two hydro electric projects aggregating to 100 MW capacity have been contracted for benefits in 12th Plan," Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal told the Lok Sabha.
In a written reply, he also said the import of power equipment varies with projects and also depends on "the type of project, type of technology and size of unit etc".
