The voting for the bypoll in Chitrakoot assembly segment under Satna district will take place on November 9 while counting would be held on November 12, an official of the public relations department said.
This bypoll was necessitated following the death of Congress MLA Prem Singh in May this year.
The official said the process of filing the nomination will begin with the issuance of the notification on October 16.
The model code of conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the entire Satna district, he said.
He was a three-time MLA from Chitrakoot, from where he won in 1998, 2003 and 2013.
