Chouhan pays tributes to soldier killed in Manipur ambush

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Farhadi village in Rewa district to pay tributes to Jitendra Singh Kushwaha who laid down his life fighting extremists in Manipur recently.
Insurgents had killed 18 soldiers in an ambush in Chandel district of Manipur on June 4.
Chouhan laid a wreath on a photograph of soldier Jitendra Singh, of 6 Dogra infantry regiment, yesterday saying that his government will ensure that sacrifices of martyred soldiers do not go in vain, an official said.
He presented a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to Kushwaha's wife Savita.
On the occasion, the Chief minister also announced allotment of a house and job to one member of the bereaved family, on the occasion.

He said that a memorial will be built at the funeral place of the martyred soldier and Farhadi village will be connected with the main road. Also, a road connecting the soldier's village will be named after him.
Chouhan also announced to name the entry gate and primary school of the village after the martyr.
Madhya Pradesh Public Relations, Energy and Mineral Resources Development Minister Rajendra Shukla was also present on the occasion.
