The 24-year-old Shahen, who has travelled along with the team to Kolkata, will play his first match against Mohammedan Sporting on November 23, an official release said.
Shahen is currently a member of Syrian senior national team and also Syrian U-23 national side. He represented Syrian U-23 national team in the Mediterranean Games 2009 in Italy and even score a goal in their first match of the group stage against Italy.
Shahen's last club was Al-Hidd in Bahrain.
The 25-year old Egyptian was formerly with African Champions Al Ahly and was loaned out to Egyptian club Telephonat Beni Sweif SC for the last two seasons.
