The series, currently titled "Icon," is based on the modelling world in the 1980's, reported Variety.
Anne Heche and James Tupper will also serve as executive producers with Crawford, 49.
"The Hunger Games" producer Robin Bissell will pen the project, hailing from Universal TV.
The series which is currently under early development stage revolves around the modelling wars in the '80s that occurred between Ford Modeling Agency and Elite Model Management.
However, the show is completely fictionalised and no actual names of models or figures from the time will be used.
