Circle of change will culminate with Bengal polls win: Irani

The change that began from the Centre with the Modi-led government taking over, will complete its circle after the BJP wins the 2016 Assembly polls in West Bengal, Union minister Smriti Irani today claimed.
Addressing a rally in the city to celebrate the 113rd birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, Irani said, "The parivartan will not be complete unless the BJP comes to power in Bengal."
She hoped that in the 2016 Assembly polls lotus will bloom in Bengal resulting in benefits for all citizens and praised Modi government's steps taken in the past two years aimed at "inclusive growth".

"When we speak about democracy, it is about uplifting the poor and the Modi government has taken several measures like opening bank accounts for the needy, unveiling of Mudra bank for collateral-free loan for very small traders and businessmen," the Union HRD Minister said.
Speaking from the same platform, Minster of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo alleged that democracy had been "murdered in broad-day light" in the Bidhannagar and Asansol municipal poll under the Mamata Banerjee government.
He said that the definition of the tag "Ma, Mati, Manush" given by Mamata Banerjee to describe her government has "changed" over the years.

State BJP president Rahul Sinha in his speech claimed that TMC cannot repeat next year its victory in the recently-held civic polls, which it achieved by "orchestrating" voting.
Sinha also demanded resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
A procession was taken out from College Street to Esplanade in the city on the occasion demanding "restoration of democracy" in West Bengal.
