A CISF jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself from his service rifle at his post in the mines area of Chhattisgarh's Durg district.
The incident was reported late yesterday from the Mahamaya mines area and the jawan has been identified as S Naresh, a resident of Chandrapur district in Maharashtra.
Naresh shot himself from his official AK-47 rifle and was found dead by his colleagues, a senior official said.
"A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of his taking the extreme step," he said.
The Central Industrial Security Force is tasked to guard the mines area around the Mahamaya-Rajhara mines area.
