Speaking at the Children Day celebrations organised by Delhi State Legal Services Authority and Delhi government's WCD department, the CJI praised the juvenile inmates for the skills that they had picked up at the Juvenile Justice Board.
Earlier, children at Sewa Kutir, a juvenile justice board in North west Delhi, presented various performances for the dignitaries attending the celebrations.
Chief Justice of Delhi High Court D Murugesan and Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed of Delhi High Court, who is also the chairman of Delhi HC Legal services committee, were also present on the occasion.
Delhi's education minister Kiran Walia announced that the government would make efforts to enable the children excelling in sports to compete in state-level events.
The celebrations also awarded prize distribution to juveniles who had participated and won in various sports and other activities.
