The girl was returning from a marriage function when two youths of minority community allegedly passed lewd comments on her last night.
"The incident led to a scuffle. Both the sides pelted stones on each other leading to tension in the area. Police rushed to the spot immediately and controlled the situation," SHO of Ramganj police station Ashok Chauhan said.
No one was injured in the incident.
An FIR against the accused was registered under Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of IPC and relevant sections of the SC, ST Act and POCSO act, he said.
