Trouble started when members of one of the communities insisted on taking out 'chadar juloos' (procession) on the occasion of Urs-e-Alahazrat from Zed village to Bareilly school road area, they said.
The other community objected to the new route following which both sides indulged in heavy brick batting, police said, adding that six persons were injured in the incident.
A team comprising DIG Ashutosh Kumar, DM Pankaj Yadav and SSP Jogendra Kumar rushed to the spot and convinced the community to take out the procession from a different route.
