The deceased, identified as Shivam, took the extreme step yesterday and was run over by a moving goods train after he jumped in front of it, they said.
He insisted on accompanying his grandfather Nand Lal to Delhi but was refused to do so and scolded, SP (Rural) Pankaj Pandey said.
Resident of Dibai town here, Shivam had left home after the refusal by the family and jumped in front of the train at Dharampur Railway Station on Dehradun-Aligarh Track, Pandey added.
After request from the family members, the body was handed over to them, the SP said.
