Asking to strengthen the district-level task force set up to address agriculture requirements by convening meeting every week, Soren directed the agriculture department to ensure taking the total number of agri-tool banks in the state from existing 170 to 500 by August and to 1000 by March.
Reviewing a meeting of the department, Soren advised the authorities to distributes agriculture tools worth Rs 15 crore among the farmers, an official release said quoting him.
Expressing concern over acidic land, Soren asked to get treated ten lakh hectare acidic land to make it agriculturally usable.
Stating that twenty lakh farmers have already been given Kisan Credit Card, Soren asked the officials to ensure another ten lakh farmers getting it by 2014/15 fiscal.
