CM for probe into incident during PM's Assembly visit

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today asked the Chief Secretary to order a probe into protests staged by media personnel on being barred from covering the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here for filing of nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha election.
The Chief Minister asked Chief Secretary N K Das to go into the details of the circumstances leading to yesterday's fiasco and suggest suitable measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
Local and national media journalists, TV camerapersons and photographers had yesterday staged a protest after they were debarred from entering the Assembly premises by officials citing security reasons.

The journos had asserted that the media was gagged in a democracy by being debarred to report on the Prime Minister filling his nomination papers as the representative of the people of Assam.
