CM orders water release from Amaravathi dam

: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa has issued orders to release water from the Amaravathi dam for irrigation purposes with effect from tomorrow.
"Accepting the request from the locals, I have issued orders to release waters from the Amaravathi dam from September 22", she said in an official release.
About 47,117 acres in Tiruppur and Karur districts stand to get benefit for irrigation purposes, it said.
