CNNEAO condemns 'attempts' of newspapers to bypass SC order

The Confederation of Newspapers and News Agencies Employees Organisations (CNNEAO) today condemned the "attempts" of media institutions to "bypass" the Supreme Court order to implement the Majthia Wageboard recommendations.
CNNAEO leaders also expressed their strong resentment against the managements giving their own interpretation of the wageboard award, "ignoring" the advise given by Indian Newspaper Society in regard to implementation and denying benefits to workers.
An emergency meeting of CNNAEO decried the "sinister" attempts of several managements forcing their employees to sign letters expressing satisfaction over the implementation of the award and denying them the actual benefits they are entitled to.

General Secretary of CNNEAO M S Yadav said such "coercion'" tantamount to criminal act and the Confederation will advise the member unions to take necessary legal and other steps against the violation of the Supreme Court judgement.
Yadav also said CNNEAO will approach the authorities concerned, including the central government, against "illegal" actions of the managements.
