Coal India has begun FY 2015-16 on a strong note with a record production during April at 41.52 million tonnes, 101 per cent of target production.
CIL had registered a 6.9 per cent production growth for the fiscal 2014-15.
Coal offtake was at 43.52 million tonnes during April.
Over Burden Removal (OBR), an important performance criteria that improves the mine geometry and exposes the coal seam for future mining making the mines safer to operate, has been 90.53 million cubic meters achieving 104 per cent of the target.
