Stephen Colbert announced on his show about his last appearance as the host, reported Aceshowbiz.
The comedian made the announcement while promoting the paperback release of his book 'America Again: Re-becoming the Greatness We Never Weren't'.
"Stephen Colbert, the guy you've seen here every night for nine years will be gone. All you'll have left of me is this book," he said.
Colbert is leaving Comedy Central for CBS, where he will replace David Letterman as the host of the 'Late Show'. 'Late Show with Stephen Colbert' will debut sometime in 2015 following Letterman's final broadcast earlier next year.
