Cold conditions persist in Pb, Haryana

Cold conditions continued to prevail in Punjab and Haryana as mercury dropped several notches below normal in most parts of the two states.
Amritsar in Punjab was the coldest place in the region as it recorded a minimum temperature of 4.8 degrees, a MeT department report said today.
Among other places, Ludhiana had a low at 9.8 degrees while Patiala's minimum temperature settled at 8.6 degrees.
In neighbouring Haryana, Karnal braved cold weather at 5.4 degrees, four notches below normal while Ambala had a low of 8.6 degrees.
Hisar, Narnaul and Bhiwani experienced cold conditions at 6.7, 5 and 8.4 degree Celsius respectively, down by upto two degrees below normal.
Chandigarh had a low of 9.2 degrees and the city witnessed bright sunshine in the morning.
The MeT department has predicted dry weather conditions in most parts of Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
