Severe cold conditions continued to prevail in Rajasthan on Monday with Sikar district of the state recording the minimum temperature at minus 0.5 degree Celsius, the meteorological department said.
Most of the places in the state remained under the grip of the cold wave, affecting normal life.
The state capital recorded the the night temperature at 1 degree Celsius, which is the lowest of this season so far, the MeT department said.
The all-time record of the minimum temperature during the winter season in Jaipur is minus 2.2 degrees Celsius, which was recorded on January 31 and February 1, 1905, it said. The city had recorded the minimum temperature at 0 degree Celsius on December 13, 1964.
Hill station Mount Abu recorded the minimum temperature at 1 degree Celsius, the MeT office said.
Harsh cold conditions prevailed in Pilani, Churu, Ganganagar, Vanasthali and Bundi, which recorded the night temperature at 1.1, 1.3, 1.5, 2.2 and 2.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
Alwar recorded a minimum of 3.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Dabok (3.3) and Ajmer, Jaisalmer and Chittorgarh (3.4 degrees Celsius each), according to MeT department here.
Kota, Jodhpur and Barmer recorded a minimum of 4, 7 and 7.1 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.
Areas in north Rajasthan were in the grip of dense fog, which affected vehicular movement.
According to the MeT department, the cold wave conditions are likely to continue in the state over the next 24 hours.
