The maximum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 20 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.
While 27 flights were delayed, nearly 90 trains were running late due to fog.
According to a Northern Railway official, six trains were cancelled while 79 trains are running late due to the adverse weather conditions and departure timings of 10 others had to be rescheduled.
The visibility, MeT departments officials said was 500 meters at 5.30 AM which decreased significantly to 50 meters at 8.30 AM.
The weatherman has predicted clear sky for tomorrow with possibility of moderate to dense fog in the morning.
"It is going to be a clear sky tomorrow. There will be moderate to dense fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 20 and 6 degrees Celsius respectively.
