Una recorded maximum temperature at 10 deg Celsius in comparison to 19.8 deg C yesterday while Bhuntar and Sundernagar recorded a high of 10.5 deg and 12.8 deg Celsius compared to 19 deg and 20.9 deg respectively yesterday, Met office sources said.
Dharamsala was hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 16.8 deg Celsius followed by Solan 16 deg, Nahan 14.5 deg, Shimla 10.4 deg and Kalpa 5.6 deg C.
The minimum temperature at Keylong rose to minus 6.5 deg from minus 9.8 deg C yesterday while Solan, Manali and Kalpa recorded a low of 0.5 deg, 1 deg and 1.4 deg, 2 to 4 deg below normal.
Shimla, Nahan, Mandi and Una recorded minimum temperatures at 4.6 deg Celsius while Sundernagar was slightly colder with night temperature at 4 deg C.
The local MeT department has predicted rains, snow or thundershowers at isolated places in mid and higher hills.
Meanwhile, thousands of tourists who had thronged the state capital to ring in the New Year were disappointed as snowfall eluded the state capital.
