College student 'drowns'
drowned in rain-fed Bhagirathi river at Chakdah in Nadia district today.
Police said Prashanta Dam (18), of B A first year in Chakdah College, went missing from Raninagar Ghat after he went for swim into the river and divers were still searching for him.
West Bengal Minister Partho Chattopadhyay earlier in the day confirmed nine flood-related deaths during his visit to Nadia district.
