"The search operation has been going on continuously since yesterday but there are deep jungles and rainy weather. So far no one has been caught," a Defence official said today.
The Coordinating Committee of six Manipur-based militant groups (CarCom) and PLA are suspected to be involved in the attacks.
Officials said the bodies of the personnel will be sent to their respective hometowns tomorrow after a wreath-laying ceremony.
A group of militants had yesterday afternoon ambushed a convoy of 29 Assam Rifles killing a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and five jawans near the Indo-Myanmar border in Chandel district.
Assam Rifles officials said the area of the encounter was cordoned off and efforts were on to neutralise the insurgent group and prevent them from crossing over to Myanmar.
Last year, 18 army personnel were killed in the same district in an ambush by NSCN(K) militants.
