Comfort is the key for Gen Next at LFW

Comfort and wearability were the key elements in the creations of six young designers, who made their ramp debut at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2016.
Abhishek Paatani, Paridhi Jaipuria, Gaurav Khanjio, Anupreet Sidhu, Vaibhav Singh and Diming Rubu presented their collection in the Gen Next segment.
Paridhi, who is from Jaipur, gave traditional weaves a contemporary touch in her line titled "Bunai".
The budding designer, whose collection included asymmetrical dresses, ponchos, pants and jackets, said she always prefers to design clothes that are easy to wear.
"Comfort is certainly one of the main concerns of young designers like us. I design clothes which I can wear without thinking twice. It is very important to look at ease in your clothes. Times have changed now, experimenting with designs is not stopping us from making comfortable silhouettes," she said.

Delhi-based designer Gaurav Khanijo created a whole range of men clothing using Bhagalpuri silk with dragonfly motif.

Gaurav said menswear cannot afford to go low on comfort quotient.
"Men are finicky about their clothes. They can't live on something which doesn't makes them look and feel good. I used silk but created stuff like trench coat, trousers, jackets which can be worn normally without any hassle. The idea was to experiment with the fabric and bring in bright colours but keep the range wearable at the same time," he said.
Fashion is not only for runway now. It has to have the relevance in day-to-day life," he added.

Abhishek, who presented a collection inspired by warfare, created multi-utility clothes with pockets on back. His aim was to showcase something which is durable. His designs had neoprene, velvet, leather as their base fabric.
Gurgaon-based designer Vaibhav Singh's collection titled "Hybrid" was a line of sharply cut and tailored garments for men.
With wool and leather dominating the range, designs like ankle length trousers, waistcoats, long sleeved shirts, cuffed capris, and low slung pockets for kurtas, were high on style.
Anupreet Sidhu's lable "Sidhu Ji" was inspired by Vincent van Gogh's painting 'Starry Night over Rhone'.
The line included flared pants and dresses with metal and wood adding a touch of uniqueness.
