The Commission did not have a prosecutor for conducting the proceedings and, therefore, "I adjourned the case till Thursday", Justice M L Koul told PTI.
He said the Public Prosecutor for Shopian had been instructed to discharge duties of the prosecutor before the Commission.
Justice Koul said the prosecutor needed some time to go through the documents which necessitated the adjournment.
The four were killed at Gagran in Shopian district on September seven, the day internationally-renowned orchestra conductor Zubin Mehta performed at famed Shalimar Gardens here.
Police said there was no record of involvement in militant activities of the three dead youths while it said the fourth was a Pakistani militant.
The Commission was set up to find out the circumstances leading to the killing of the four youths and if they had any involvement in militancy.
It was also been asked to fix responsibility for any act of misuse of authority by CRPF personnel.
