Committee to be constituted for preparing DPR: Rawat

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has announced that a state-level committee will be constituted to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on different projects of the state related to Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
CM's announcement came after a meeting with Additional Secretary Amarjeet Singh of Union Water Resources ministry was held here on Friday.
According to official statement issued here today, Rawat said that this committee will be headed by Additional Chief Secretary Rakesh Sharma.
The committee will hold weekly meetings for co-ordination among all departments and to prepare a DPR of the different projects of irrigation, drinking water, tourism, urban development department at the state level, it said.
According to Rawat, the DPR will have to be sent to the Ministry by January 14, next year.
"The DPR will also focus on Chardham Yatra and 'Ardhkumb Mela' (held at Haridwar)," he said.
Rawat said that Wapcos Limited be appointed as executing agency to evaluate the DPR of all schemes related to Water Resources Ministry.
According to Rawat, work is proposed for formulating 16 schemes for cleaning the Ganga.
Singh said that there are several schemes of the ministry proposed for the states.
Urging the state government to send DPR in a time-bound manner, Singh assured all kind of help to the state government.
