According to the complaint filed with the Thane Anti-corruption Bureau, sub-inspector attached to the Naupada police station Jayant Madhukar Patil allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 4 lakh in March and later on again in April, for not registering a case against the complainant in a cheating case, superintendent of police, ACB Thane, Srinivas Ghatge told PTI.
Later, after negotiation, Patil zeroed on Rs 2 lakh for doing the favour to the complainant, following which, the complainant filed a case with the ACB office.
Further investigations into the case were on, Ghatge said, adding, no arrest was made so far.
