The deputy commissioner of Kangra on Wednesday ordered complete ban on carrying weapons and firearms in the district till the completion of the Lok Sabha polls and directed people to deposit their arms with the administration for the period.

According to the order, arms holders have been asked to deposit their weapons and ammunition in the nearest police station.

"Those who disregard the order will be treated as per law. However, this order will not apply to officials of army, paramilitary forces, home guards and police personnel.
