India's compound mixed pair of Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha Vennam will face Turkey in the bronze medal play-off match at the 'Stage One' of the Archery World Cup here today.
The Indian duo led 117-116 against the Danish pair of Tanja Jensen and Martin Damsbo, who finally prevailed 155-154.
The recurve archers once again disappointed as their mixed pair of Atanu Das and Ankita Bhagat lost to USA in the quarters and are set to return empty handed.
The only hope from the season opener meet would be from the compound section. India are currently in the hunt for three bronze medals -- all from the compound sections. The compound teams in both the men's and women's sections had advanced into their respective bronze play-offs yesterday. All medal rounds in the compound team is slated for tomorrow.
