It will also help keep the quality of the cargo intact and help in safe and efficient transportation, KPCL said in a statement here.
The facility was inaugurated by Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu.
"Concor is a vital part of Indian Railways and we are happy to associate with one of country's fastest growing ports like Krishnapatnam. Taking effective measures to promote both exports and imports will generously boost the GDP of the nation," Prabhu said.
"Exports and imports are contributing to nearly 16-17 per cent of GDP and promoting such activity would have an avid impact on the economy," he said.
Concor has consistent train services to and from Krishnapatnam Port. The port has already acquired 140.58 acres of land at Krishnapatnam for setting up the MMLP and is in the process of acquisition of another 24.03 acres.
The construction work of the Phase-1 will commence soon at Krishnapatnam.
