A Congress delegation led by AICC general secretary Gurudas Kamat and Rajasthan PCC chief Sachin Pilot today met President Pranab Mukherjee and demanded sacking of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for allegedly helping former IPL Commissioner and fugitive Lalit Modi.
The Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to Mukherjee in Delhi in this regard.
In the memorandum, the party alleged that Raje helped Lalit Modi, against the law and wrongfully, to get him travel documents from the British government on condition that her help would not be disclosed before Indian authorities.
Pilot in a statement here said that there were factual evidences on this matter and Raje has no moral right to continue as Chief Minister and so must be sacked.
Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Rameshwar Dudi, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Union Minister C P Joshi and others were present on the occasion.
