After an impressive performance of the BJP and its allies in Tripura and Nagaland assembly elections, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the Congress is at its lowest ebb today and people are rejecting it everywhere.
Khattar claimed that the Congress will face further rout when elections will be held in Karnataka.
"As far as policies go, the Congress was never able to give a clear policy which would decide in which direction the country has to move ahead. This task has been fulfilled by the BJP and people have appreciated it," he said today at a press conference here.
Talking about the poll results in Tripura where the BJP trounced the Left Front government, he said people have rejected the policies of that government.
"There has been anger against the government and this was seen in Tripura. After 25 years, the Left citadel has fallen and the BJP is set to form a government with full majority," the Haryana chief minister said.
"Congress is at its lowest ebb today and it is in power in just three or four states while the Left rules only in one state (Kerala). In Northeast, only Mizoram is left with Congress now. Credit (for BJP's good show) goes to our leadership and policies which our party has brought in favour of common people," Khattar said.
When asked if it is BJP's dream to form a government on its own in Punjab too, which is ruled by the Congress at present, he said, "Why should we not have this dream? The dream should be there. When opportunity will come, we will work hard and prove that we can do it.
