"It's a classic case of pot calling the kettle black. In fact it is they (BJP), who are not serious about taking up the House business and had been disrupting Parliament. The test of their words will come when the session begins," party spokesperson Sandip Dikshit said.
He was responding to questions about BJP leader Arun Jaitley's remark that Government has only 12 effective days for conducting legislative business in the 16 sittings in session and as such its proposal of taking up 64 items during the session.
Swaraj also felt that the government's desire to take up 64 bills in 16 working days was "impractical" though its intention may be "noble".
Another Congress spokesperson Meem Afzal also dismissed the criticism of BJP leaders saying "if Parliament runs smoothly, if the Opposition party does not disrupt its functioning, we can pass all the bills that are listed. Let Swaraj and Jaitely cooperate, we will do it provided they do not disrupt it like the last session."
