Congress members took out a procession and staged a protest at the Collectorate.
Later they submitted a memorandum addressed to the Governor and demanded an FIR and action against those, who created ruckus during the function attended by the Union Minister.
SP activists had raised slogans and clashed with Congress workers during the foundation stone laying ceremony of a processing unit of Steel Authority of India by Verma on Monday last.
The Union Minister had laid foundation stone of Rs 100 crore steel processing unit at Godani Basahi village in Risia area.
Later SP and Congress workers clashed with each other and threw chairs in which some persons were injured, though no case has been registered by police so far, they said.
