Delhi Congress today held protests over "back breaking" rise in prices of essential commodities at all Assembly constituencies of the city, condemning "failure" of BJP ruled Centre and AAP government to control skyrocketing costs.
"All senior Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee leaders including its president Ajay Maken participated in dharna organised at Assembly constituencies where double headed effigies depicting Modi and Kejriwal were torched as a mark of protest," a party spokesman said.
"Both BJP-led Central Government and the Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party Government were busy clashing on petty issues instead of addressing serious matters like price rise, which has a direct bearing on household expenses of common people," Maken said.
He termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as "two sides of the same coin", saying that "both have betrayed the trust and confidence of the people, who voted them to power."
The AICC in-charge of Delhi P C Chacko, ex DPCC president Arvinder Singh Lovely, Haroon Yusuf, Dr AK Walia, Sajjan Kumar, Yoganand Shastri among others participated in the protests held at all the 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi.
