The Congress and NCP Thursday demanded ouster of Maharashtra Minister of State for Social Justice and Excise Dilip Kamble, accusing him of taking bribe for a wine shop permit, an allegation he denied.

The opposition parties said the Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court had directed that an FIR be registered against the minister in this matter.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde of the NCP, and Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant demanded that the minister be sacked.

Vilas Chavan, the complainant, moved the court as the police did not register a case, they said.

A bribe of Rs 2.15 crore was sought for transfer of a wine shop permit in Chavan's name, they alleged.

NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik demanded that Kamble be arrested in the case.

Denying the allegations, Kamble said he had never met the complainant, and it was an attempt to malign him and the BJP.

"I had exposed corruption in the Annabhau Sathe Financial Development Corporation and this is why the opposition wants to defame me.

"The opposition moved the court to get a complaint registered against me. This conspiracy against me will be duly probed," the minister said.

"The complainant had contested 2014 assembly election from Gangapur on NCP ticket," Kamble added.
