Cong running away from debate: Prasad

Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today accused Congress of running away from debate and disrupting Parliament as part of pressure tactics.
"We are ready for debate but Congress is running away from it. Congress wants to disrupt the House and is using pressure tractics," he said outside Parliament.
Rajya Sabha was repeatedly adjourned amid continued uproar by Congress members over the alleged "vendetta politics" in the National Herald case for the third day.
The Delhi High Court had on Monday dismissed the pleas of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi challenging summons issued to them in the National Herald case in which they have to appear before the trial court.

Prasad said, "They (Congress) should approach the court, why disrupt the House?"
He said, "Congress should tell us why it is avoiding debate? Whether (it is) the case involving Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh or P Chidambaram or Herald, we are ready for debate."
Asked whether BJP is ready to resolve the issue by talking to Congress, Prasad said "We are ready to talk. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Our doors are always open for talks.
