Cong sitting MP from Lakshadweep defeated

P P Mohammed Faisal of NCP defeated Congress' sitting MP Hamdulla Sayeed by 1,535 votes in the Lakshadweep Parliamentary constituency.
The total votes polled in the lone seat in the union territory were 43,242.
Faisal garnered 21,665 votes against Hamdulla's 20,130 votes.
The three postal votes received were declared invalid, polling officials said.
