The Congress-led UPA government is misusing central probe agencies against the opposition parties and their ministers by levelling false allegations to defame them, in order to hide its failures, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan alleged here today.
"To hide its failures and incapabilities, the Congress-led UPA government is misusing central probe agencies against opposition parties and their ministers by levelling false allegations as part of a conspiracy to defame them," Chouhan alleged at a rally as part of his second-leg of his 50-day Janashirwad Yatra campaign.
Chouhan has been addressing rallies as part of the Yatra in Chitrangi, Sidhi, Sihaval and Churhat assembly segments.
He was referring to news reports about Income Tax Department's report to various probe agencies referring to a diary seized from a mining baron during a raid in which names of the two ministers were mentioned in it.
Taking a jibe at the Congress whose reins were normally in the hands of erstwhile royals, Chouhan who is a farmer's son claimed that the BJP government had achieved in just nine years what the Congress could not do during the last 60 years of its rule.
Highlighting various steps taken by his government for farmers' welfare, Chouhan claimed that due to sustained efforts and a strong will to turn agriculture into a profitable venture, Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the number one state in the country in terms of agricultural production.
The state provides loans to farmers at zero per cent and had made efforts to supply 24x7 power supply to the people.
