BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao also hit out at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi over his criticism of the GST, saying his stand "reeks of hypocrisy and doublespeak" as his party had claimed that the new tax regime was its brainchild.
He also accused the Congress of pursuing "politics of lies", saying it is committing a "fraud" on people as its state governments were a party to every single decision taken at the GST council.
As Gandhi hit out at the government over the GST and demonetisation, and his party leaders met to chalk out plans to observe November 8, the first anniversary of the note ban announcement, as 'black day', Rao alleged that Congress leaders were fond of black money.
"It is understandable that the Congress did not like demonetisation as its corrupt policies when in power would directly militate against a transparent economic regime.
