Congress today started its state level campaign from here against the amendments brought by the Centre in the Land Acquisition Bill and vowed to protect the interests of the farmers.
The Congress leaders, including former Union Minister Selja Kumari and party's state unit chief Ashok Tanwar, demanded that the amendments be rolled back by the Centre.
"Our struggle will continue. We will not allow any compromise with the farmers' interests," Selja said.
Tanwar said BJP had made tall promises to the farmers before the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Haryana last year, "but now it is going ahead with anti-farmer amendments".
