The All Women Police Station at Valliyoor had registered a rape case against Manikandan following a complaint from a 23-year-old noon meal woman employee that he had raped her after promising to marry her, in 2012.
He was suspended for three months and trial was going on at the Mahila court here.
DIG Murugan issued the dismissal order as an inquiry found that Manikanadan had allegedly threatened the complainant following which she turned hostile inviting adverse comments from the judge against police.
