constable allegedly committed suicide in the city, police said.
The constable Raju Sonone, attached to police Head Quarters, killed himself yesterday by consuming insecticide, Kotwali police said.
"He purchased a bottle of insecticide from a shop and consumed it there. After walking some distance, he collapsed near the Bombay Lodge area," police said.
He was taken to hospital, where he was declared dead.
Sonone had joined the police department in 2012 and got married just eight months ago.
Motive behind his suicide could not be ascertained yet, police said.
