Constable shoots himself dead with service rifle

A 38-year-old police constable allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle here today.
Rajendra Prasad Bhatt, deployed with the treasury department went to the terrace of his office, housed at the Collectorate, and killed himself during his duty hours, Rural area Police Station Inspector M Pachouri told PTI.
He said that people around heard a loud noise and ran upstairs only to find Bhatt lying in a pool of blood.
Police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating to find out what prompted the constable to end his life.
