Construction workers to get food at concessional rates

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to provide food to construction workers in the state at concessional rates, a senior government official said today.
The decision was taken during the annual meeting of UP Building and Other Construction Worker's Welfare Board, chaired by Principal Secretary (Labour) Shailesh Krishna.
Krishna said the scheme will be launched in Lucknow on an experimental basis and if successful, it will be implemented in other districts.
Also, at the meeting, there was a consensus that mass marriages of daughters of construction workers should be held, he said.
